Renault’s fancy new coupe SUV thing will be called the Rafale

Categories

The new car, called the Renault Rafale, will be a "high-end SUV coupe."

It will use E-Tech hybrid powertrains and is built on the CMF-CD platform, just like the Austral. This nickname that was given to the car refers to a very cool single-seat racing aircraft of the 1930s called the Caudron Renault C460.

This aircraft was designed to break records and win competitions. It was powered by Renault's supercharged six-cylinder aircraft engine and was renamed Rafale (French for "gusty wind") a year after Renault acquired Caudron in 1933. Unfortunately, this nickname is used in vain on a car of this type.
At the 54th Paris Air Show in June, Renault will unveil the new Rafale as part of its further communications development.
